Few things in life are as exciting and scary at the same time as being pregnant. Your health and the health of your baby are your primary concern, as well as ours. At Southeast Lincoln Family Medicine, we are committed to providing the highest quality care for you and your baby throughout your pregnancy. The key to a healthy pregnancy is receiving regular prenatal health care.
Regular visits to your physician will include:
- Alpha-fetoprotein screenings
- Fetal monitoring
- Glucose tolerance testing
- Group b strep cultures
- Monitoring your health and baby's development
You should have your first examination during the first 10 to 12 weeks of your pregnancy. If you're healthy and there are no complicating risk factors, you can expect to see your healthcare provider:
- Every four weeks until the 28th week of pregnancy
- Then every two weeks until the 36th week of pregnancy
- Then once a week until delivery.
