Our Mission
We help people help themselves - for life!
What We Do
Physical therapists assist patients to recover normal movement and function following an illness or injury. Occupational and speech pathologists also are available at the Bryan Medical Plaza for assessment and treatment. Patients of all ages and health conditions work with our rehabilitation services team to develop and restore functional capabilities and purposeful strength.
Physical therapists diagnose and treat individuals of all ages who have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. Therapists assess patients' muscle strength, flexibility, coordination, posture and mobility skills. Exercise and physical treatment techniques help promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function and prevent disability. Physical therapists also work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility by developing fitness- and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles.
Occupational therapists work with people of all ages who have physical, developmental or cognitive (thinking) difficulties in daily life skills. Occupational therapists assess and treat patients' physical and mental skills to help them feed themselves, bathe, dress and work. Occupational therapy helps people develop the "skills for the job of living" necessary for independent and satisfying lives. Occupational therapists are located at the Bryan Medical Plaza.
Speech language pathologists are experts at evaluating and treating people with communication difficulties that involve speaking, thinking, reading, writing or reduced hearing due to neurological problems or other diseases. Speech language pathologists also assess and treat swallowing disorders resulting from injury or illness. They provide exercises and techniques to improve all aspects of communication and prevent choking when eating. Speech language pathologists are located at the Bryan Medical Plaza.
