Meet the Admission Staff
|
|
As an Admissions Counselor for BryanLGH College of Health Sciences, I work to recruit both traditional and non-traditional students across the state of Nebraska and the surrounding states of Missouri, Iowa and Kansas, making visits to high schools and working at college and career fairs and setting up campus tours with potential students.
I have been with BryanLGH College of Health Sciences since February 2007. However, I have worked in admissions for six years at other institutions.
In my spare time, I like being outside with my two boys and little girl, camping, working on scrapbooks, sports and spending time with my husband, Jace. I have two watchdogs, Cozmo and Chief, they are small Pomeranians and as you can probably guess - burglars don't stand a chance! We also have a cat, Scooby, who weighs more than our dogs put together at 27 pounds. My favorite show of all times is "Sex and the City" (and now movie)! I have the boxed gift set of the series under spotlight in our basement - long live the girls!

Julie Nelson Admissions Student Assistant Office #224 (402)481-8376 Julie.nelson@bryanlgh.org
As a Student Assistant I process and work on recruitment projects for prospective students and complete general clerical work for the Admissions Office. I am currently a junior in the nursing program and pursing a minor in Biomedical Sciences.
Bloomfield, Nebraska is where I spent the first 18 years of my life. I chose to come to school here for many reasons but mainly for the quality education, small student-to-faculty ratio and friendly campus. Some of my favorite things are: my German shepherd, Kimber; coffee; family, friends & my boyfriend; Apple technology; Victoria's Secret sweat pants; traveling; Discovery Health channel; and the TV show: My Fair Wedding with David Tutera.

Ashley Peterson Nursing Student & Student Body President
I'm from York, Nebraska. I have two brothers and two sisters and am the second oldest. My parent's names are Don and Donna. One of our weekly family traditions is having my mom's homemade fried chicken on Sunday afternoons followed by a delightful 'chicken coma' (nap). I also have a weakness for Asian food. My birthmark is on my tongue. I like to run and am working on running my first half-marathon in Tulsa, OK by the end of the year. I love school, the Huskers and getting good grades. I also enjoy (need) coffee a lot. I cannot say enough about my experience at Bryan and would 100% do it all over again if I had to.

Laura Deever Nursing
I'm originally from Omaha, NE. The reason I chose to go into nursing is because when I was little I wanted to be just like my mom, but then I figured out also that I love people and love to be busy so I thought nursing would be a good fit for me! After graduation I would like to get a couple years of experience then work for an international humanitarian aid organization in the medical field. I also want to see the world (or at least part of it!), get a pilot's license, and learn to surf! I enjoy current events, politics, history, the medical field, running, AND my awesome family! My favorite thing about BryanLGH? Besides everything? The faculty, people, and our fabulous campus and clinical sites!

My name is Natasha Uerling and I am in the Bachelor's of Science in Nursing Program here at BryanLGH College of Health Sciences. I was born and raised in Hastings, NE. Kendra Klinetobe Nursing
I was born and raised in NW Iowa. I'm the oldest daughter. I have one sister, Nicole, who is 16. In my free time I love to watch and participate in sports (especially tackle football). I am loving the city of Lincoln, but at heart I'm still a small town, country girl. I love to hunt, fish, drive tractors and four wheelers, kneeboard, and downhill ski. I have always wanted to be a nurse. My grandma and two of my aunts are both nurses, and I always looked up to them and was very curious about their jobs. I chose to go to college at Bryan LGH College of Health Sciences after my dad mentioned one day that that is where his mother went. I toured the campus and knew that it was a perfect fit for me. I am a first semester sophomore in the nursing program, and I started clinicals this semester!! This is my first semester being an Ambassador. I feel very privileged for the opportunity.

Jamie Weiss Nursing
I'm in the nursing program here at BryanLGH College of Health Sciences. I am originally from a small town in Southeast Nebraska. One of the reasons for choosing to come here was the amount of time we spend in a variety of clinical settings. Another reason is because of how knowledgeable and experienced the professors are. The faculty and staff always go above and beyond to make sure the students succeed and how to make visitors and students feel like family! In my spare time, I enjoy participating in outdoor activities and extracurricular school activities. Mostly I enjoy working as a Student Ambassador and Student Consulting! My best advice for future students is to gain experience in the healthcare setting before attending school.

Nic Genrich Nursing
I am a third semester sophomore in the nursing program. I was born and raised in Lincoln, NE and I graduated from Lincoln East H.S. in 2007. I went into the nursing field due to my strong passion for learning about and caring for the human body. I also want to help educate others about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. I chose BryanLGH because of the small class sizes, awesome faculty, and low student to faculty ratio. Some of my hobbies are watching college football, collecting music on vinyl, drinking coffee, and listening to James Taylor.
