ER vs Urgent Care

Urgent Care at LifePointe offers quality care for minor illnesses and injuries. Below is a guide to help you understand when to go to an emergency room and when to visit Urgent Care at LifePointe.

Emergency Room Situations:                                   
  • Chest pain
  • Heart attack
  • Stroke
  • Deep cuts
  • Severe bleeding
  • Head injury or any major injury
  • Sudden loss of vision or blurred vision
  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Sudden severe headache
  • Coughing up or vomiting blood
  • Severe burns
  • Seizures
  • Infant, toddler or small children
    with very high fevers (104 F or greater)
  • Loss of consciousness, sudden dizziness,
    weakness or loss of coordination or balance
  • Any life-threatening situation
