BryanLGH Health System demonstrated our continuing commitment to service in Fiscal Year 2009 by supporting education for healthcare professionals and the community, and by donating to charitable organizations and community-building activities. Altogether, our quantifiable community benefit totaled more than $74.7 million.
Here's how these benefit dollars were distributed:
> $4,190,807: Education programs for physicians, nurses and other health professionals, plus the expenses of the BryanLGH College of Health Sciences that are not covered by tuition, fees and other funding sources.
> $1,991,998: Community benefit services includes activities to improve health and healthcare services that meet identified needs in our community.
> $573,859: Cash and in-kind contributions to non-profit organizations.
> $87,060: Community building activities address poverty, homelessness and environmental problems.
