A native of Burwell, Nebraska, Dr. Meckel attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he graduated with high distinction. He then went on to the University of Nebraska College of Medicine where he received his medical degree and graduated with high distinction. He served his internship at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He also completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in cardiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Dr. Meckel is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine Subspecialty Board of Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a member of The Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions and a member of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
